Escape to the Countryside

Sometimes you don’t need to own a farm to enjoy the peace of one.

Welcome to Crazy Farm Living—a place where you can slow down, breathe a little deeper, and experience the simple beauty of country life from wherever you are.

What began as two first-time farmers restoring a forgotten 20-acre property has grown into something much bigger. Today, we’re sharing authentic farm experiences through videos, stories, photography, puzzles, and carefully selected products that help bring a little more countryside into everyday life.

Whether you’re relaxing with one of our jigsaw puzzles, watching our latest farm adventure, or following the lives of our growing family of animals, we’re glad you’re here.

Our Story

In 2018, we made what many people thought was a crazy decision.

We left behind the familiarity of city life and purchased a neglected 20-acre farm that had been sitting empty for years. It was overgrown, weathered, and full of challenges—but we saw something special hidden beneath the weeds.

The truth is…

We had never farmed before.

We didn’t grow up on farms. We weren’t experts. We simply had an idea to create a peaceful place where we could reconnect with nature, learn new skills, care for animals, and build something meaningful together.

So we started.

One fence at a time.

One animal at a time.

One lesson after another.

Some days were incredible.

Some days everything went wrong.

But every step has become part of the story we’re sharing with you.

Meet your Farmers

Anne

Planner, writer, strategist

You can call me the crazy farm-wife!

I’m the brain behind the contents, strategies, and overall planning of this crazy “agriventure”. Although, we work together always and discuss almost every activity before it happens. We work and decide collectively, except cutting trees down. I tend to go, rogue when it comes to clearing a path!

I write the project lists, add the time, and then capture the stories. I write about “what we are doing and why” to hopefully give you an insight into our farm activities as you watch.

I want to prepare you ahead of what farming looks like if you ever have to start your farm. Or you may live your dreams through us. That’s fine too!

I’m also here to chat with you along the way.

Frank

Get-it-done guy
I’m the crazy farm-husband!

I’m Frank, the adorable husband to Anne. You can call me the Chief Operation Officer (COO) of Crazy Farm Living because I’m the “jack of all trades” kind of guy!

I can fix almost anything and willing to give other things a shot. You will find my videos more instructional as I show you “How-to” do some farm activities and “How it all happened”. Many are successful, while some failed. Either way, I will share it all with you.

My ability to research possible solutions to situations is my superpower. I will watch tons of YouTube videos, seeking a solution for any problem I encounter. Most times say 99% of the research works while it doesn’t occasionally. All I’m saying is; I can make things happen! You shall see!
Max (a.k.a. ‘Doodle’)

I’m Max, but you can also call me Doodle. I’m the Jack Russell Terrier of this farm. I always find my way in all photos and videos. I’m 10 years old and love farm life. I’m an indoor and outdoor dog. I love to watch Anne and Frank as they work on the farm. They call me their “faithful fur baby”

Daisy

I’m Daisy; an indoor super soft and fluffy kitty. I’m only a year and a half old. I give a classic Garfield expression most times! I don’t have a nickname yet but I think I’m the most beautiful cat here!

Charlie

I’m the youngest cat on the farm. Anne and Frank picked me from the Paris Humane Society 7 months ago. I’m such an energetic cat that loves to purr!

Bingo

I’m the outdoor surprise puppy. I lost my way last year in June and showed up on Anne and Frank’s farm. They have kept me ever since. I watch faithfully over the farm in return.

A peek in to who we are

The following excerpt is from my journal. This captures our excitement and apprehension as we took our first step in buying the farm and starting our Crazy Farm Living adventure….

The facts are that some dreams never materialize. Ideas and thoughts just pass through and never take root in our lives. Maybe that’s because they were never a part of God‘s plan for us anyways. Maybe they just require more than our souls are willing to give.

Today I sit on the couch watching mind numbing TV shows while perusing Pinterest for creative ideas. But in the back of my mind, we are waiting. There is anticipation and excitement. There is fear, a lot of fear and uncertainty. Frank and I run through the what-if scenarios and consider all the different changes we could make. The questions turn to what do we do first? How much money do we need?  Is this going to be fun or make us miserable? We don’t agree on some ideas, but after talking through it we get on the same page. We’ve prayed for God’s will and direction. We’ve considered that we’re making a grave mistake. ‘abort mission’ rolls off our tongues as we chuckle about this potentially new adventure.

We’ve given our best offer on 20 acres of farm land out in Paris, TX. It has a country home on it and wildlife. It’s an escape from work and city life that we could really use at this age.  We made the offer and they are considering it. That doesn’t mean no, but it doesn’t mean yes. So our anticipation grows as we wait. Just waiting for an ‘all systems go’ or ‘keep on walking’ my friend.

We’ll see what the Lord provides.  (Sept. 2018)
